Particle Collider

Particle Collider is a multimedia performance exploring the dialogue between sound and visual motion through real-time digital projections and contemporary string composition. Commissioned by The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center and premiered by TEMPO at the NextNOW Festival, the work features a composition for string quartet by Nathan Lincoln de Cusatis with synchronized responsive visuals that transform the concert into an immersive multi-sensory experience.

My custom-designed visual system analyzes the string quartet's performance in real-time, translating musical elements into dynamic particle behaviors that respond directly to the instruments. This creates a visual counterpoint where each musical voice becomes visible in flowing particle movements, revealing hidden patterns and connections between sound and form.

The integration of classical string instrumentation with responsive digital art blurs the boundaries between auditory and visual perception, inviting audiences to experience music as both sound and movement simultaneously.
