Composed by a global network of volunteers, Enabling the Future is an online platform that provides 3D printed prosthetic arms that focuses on kids mostly. The platform contains different 3d models, and necessary files, as well as tutorials, previous builds and a blog. Robotel Turkey is the official Turkish branch of Enabling the Future, that matches the applicants with its network of local volunteers, as well as providing technical assistance, preparing tutorials in Turkish and organizing monthly meet-ups.
As a volunteer of Robotel, Osman Koç was matched with Yagmur, a 6 year old girl, with amniotic band syndrome, in need of a right arm. The model from Unlimbited Arm provides a grabbing functionality for the hand, attached to a mechanism at the elbow. The wide variety of colors in material enables customizations, thus diminishing the psychological adaptation duration.
